Compressor (Centrifugal with Lube & seal Oil) Simulation
The Compressor simulation is a rigorous and high-fidelity mathematical process model that provides a realistic dynamic response for a recycle gas compressor used in HDS, hydrocracker and reformer units, among others.
Process Overview:
The simulated compressor unit is a typical single-stage recycle gas compressor for processes such as hydrodesulfurization (HDS), hydrocracking and reforming. Driven by a condensing steam turbine, the compressor pressurizes reactor recycle gas and reactor makeup gas. The pressurized gas is fed to the reactor.
The compressor unit also contains a lube and seal oil system. The lube oil system provides lubricating oil to the bearings and couplings, while the seal oil system provides the seal oil to the compressor casing.
Major Operations for Trainee Practice:
- Startup and Shutdown Operations
